Rally for NYU Adjunct Faculty

Start: Thursday, April 14, 2022 6:00 PM

On Thursday, April 14, the NYU Adjuncts Union’s bargaining committee will sit at the negotiating table with the NYU administration to begin work on a new labor contract. While the bargaining committee will raise demands at the table, we ask you to join us in a rally and raise your voice to support their efforts towards more economic justice at NYU.

In recent months, we’ve heard repeatedly from adjunct faculty that better pay, expanded access to healthcare, greater job security, and compensation for work outside the classroom are critical now more than ever. And after 2 years of carrying NYU through the pandemic, adjuncts deserve respect and recognition of their essential contributions to the NYU community. NYU owes the Adjunct Faculty.

We know how hard adjunct faculty work in ways the NYU administration does not. We support their fight for a strong contract.

The rally will start at Washington Square Park (under the Arch) and move through the Village campus, culminating at Union Square, just 2 blocks from the bargaining committee in negotiations. We’ll have banners, buttons, and fliers, but we need you to turn out. We need to show the NYU administration that this union has a strong mandate for improvements in their pay and working conditions from the broader NYU community.
